Kampala to the Impenetrable Forest
Leave Kampala early and drive south-west through the rolling hills of Mbarara and the crater lakes region. Arrive at your lodge on the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for dinner and an early night: tomorrow you meet the gorillas.
The gorillas
After an early breakfast, meet your trackers and walk into the misty forest. The trek takes 2 to 6 hours through dense jungle before you spend one unforgettable hour with a family of mountain gorillas. In the afternoon, meet the Batwa community, the forest's first people.
Lake Bunyonyi
Drive to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda, dotted with 29 islands. Afternoon in a dugout canoe between the terraced hills, a swim in the warm water, and a quiet night on the shore.
Home, slowly
A last morning on the lake, then the transfer back to Entebbe International Airport in time for your flight. The Pearl of Africa, in four days.
